Great place with free Wi-Fi, beach access, and friendly staff. On my first stay, they guided me to places with a good exchange rate. I'll definitely be back for Christmas!

The search for the best hotel on Hampton Beach continues, but the Tides was a decent place. A block from the Ocean, Nice greeting and the guy at the desk was great. Room was clean although in need of maintenance.
"Finish Work" was not in the carpenters vocabulary, however, as the bathroom looked like a work in progress. Everything worked but it looked like it was a weekend away from done. Thumb tacks holding up some of the ceiling tiles in the room itself was a bit scary; Footsteps from above could be heard clearly. After trying for 6 years to find a nice hotel besides the $200.00 plus a night Ashworth by the Sea, our search will continue. However, we have stayed in much worse in Hampton Beach and the positives outweigh the negatives here.

The owner was friendly and approachable and very fair. He let us park our vehicle in his lot the day we checked out w/out charging us an extra fee for the parking space. Parking at the beach is at a premium, that was a generosity he did not have to extend.

Location was good. Bed was comfortable.
No frills, no coffeemaker. Toilet was between two walls with barely enough room for my shoulders.
